OUR GOAL is to provide state-of-the-art media and communications tools and training to think tanks, national advocacy organizations and grassroots groups working on peace, security and foreign policy issues.
Whether your organization has a fully staffed communications department or no communications staff at all, our solutions are designed to make it easier to reach your targeted audiences and achieve your communications objectives.
Media Tools & Technologies
ReThink Media provides access to a suite of communications technologies and services considered standard operating tools by media professionals, but which have proven cost-prohibitive for many groups working on peace and security issues. This includes access to a professional media database, fax and email press release services, tools to develop and easily update your website's press pages, password protected on-line campaign rooms and assistance in building and maintaining state-by-state priority press lists. Media and Communications Training
We provide hands-on communications training, specifically developed to meet the unique needs of the peace and security community. In addition to ongoing training on how to use the media tools and technologies featured on our website, we provide expert communications training in media and messaging skills including strategic communications, building relations with reporters and outreach to target audiences. Public Opinion & Messaging Resources
We give you access to critical communications resources such as regular updates on poll data and public opinion trends on priority peace and security issues along with training in how to use public opinion research to develop and inform your organization's message. Our messaging resources include the latest guidance from experts in the fields of communications and public opinion as well as ongoing analysis of how the media is covering priority issues and how best to "position" your organization for success in the media. Easy to Use Resource Library
Our Resource Library features an extensive list of media and communications resources - most of them available for free. We spent six months finding and cataloguing the best materials available, so you don’t have to. The library is easily searched and continuously updated and allows member groups to submit reviews of the resources they have used, suggest new resources and see what's been most useful to colleague organizations. New Media
Working with our key partners, ReThink Media will continuously monitor new trends in media, communications and social networking practices and technologies - including those used by the corporate world, policymakers and peer and opposition groups - with the aim of introducing such concepts and initiatives into the strategic thinking, planning and training of the sector.
One last thing...
We're a nonprofit organization. Our bottom line is not about billable hours; it's about building the capacity of the peace, security and foreign policy community to garner better media coverage, target their messages more effectively and achieve their policy objectives.
