Description of Training
When an unexpected news story breaks, editors and producers have quick decisions to make.
• What experts and organizations should they source?
• Who should they have as guests to provide commentary?
• What unique angles and perspectives will appeal to their viewers or readers?
Breaking into the news coverage of an unanticipated story requires that organizations are fully prepared to make the case to those editors and producers that their experts and spokespeople will add a unique value to the ensuing coverage.
In this month's Expert Media Training, veteran reporter and communications expert, Peter Kelley will offer proven tips and techniques to help your organization break into news coverage of stories as they are unfolding - allowing groups to help define the terms of debate and shape the way the public perceives the issues in question.
